THINGS TO BRING

Temperatures can reach into the 90’s and may be humid during the day, and usually dip into the low 50’s at night. Thunderstorms are common this time of year so please come prepared, just in case.

Pack everything you need for the duration of your stay: bug spray, sunscreen, hat for shade, rain gear, a plastic container (or two!) for water, plastic bags for trash, etc.

Although every effort will be made to supply the portable toilets with toilet paper, we suggest that you bring at least one roll of TP....just in case.  Also, there aren't many things worse than going into a portable toilet in the dark, so we suggest bringing a flashlight with fresh batteries.

While we expect to have at least one ATM on site, we still recommend that you bring enough cash for the weekend.

VENDING

Vending applications are no longer being taken.  Unauthorized vending will be strictly prohibited.

MEDIA

Please direct all media inquiries to (617) 451-1444 extension 223.

A FEW WORDS OF WISDOM

Phish Fans,

With your cooperation we can leave a positive impression with the Oswego community, and in doing so, preserve the vitality of the Phish community. We ask that you please respect the rules of the venue and local community so that we will be welcomed back in the future.

  • Audio taping in taper section only, on a first come first serve basis.
  • The sale of nitrous oxide is strictly prohibited.  Some facts about Nitrous Oxide....Nitrous Oxide cuts off the flow of oxygen to the brain;  numerous emergencies have occurred due to its ingestion, ranging from concussions (falling down after passing out) to, in extreme cases, death;  some of the confiscated “nitrous” tanks actually contained other dangerous gases such as argon, automotive nitrous (which contains petroleum), etc.  Remember, if you purchase nitrous oxide you are likely to be supporting people who care nothing about, and contribute nothing to, the Phish community.
  • Do not bring alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, fireworks, or weapons to the show. Backpacks will be permitted inside the concert grounds, as well as factory sealed or empty plastic water containers. No glass, open containers or cameras will be permitted.
  • There will be Information Areas that will provide a general meeting area, general information, lost & found, message boards, towing and locksmiths. One will be located in the campground, and the other inside the concert grounds.
  • Please help us discourage people from coming to this show without tickets. People coming without tickets increases the cost of security staffing and services provided, which ultimately leads to higher ticket prices.
  • Remember, NO PETS are allowed. Rabies is endemic to this area! The parking lots potentially will be very hot, and we do not want to have to break into vehicles to rescue dogs.
  • Be careful not to block service lanes or park illegally anywhere in the area.  Keeping the service lanes open is the only way we can provide you with water and service the toilets.  ILLEGALLY PARKED VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED!
  • Respect the environment--please car pool as much as possible.  Use of seatbelts is MANDATORY in New York State.
  • Leave your valuables at home.  If you must bring any valuables, be sure to lock them out of sight in your vehicle.
  • Camp in designated areas only.
  • Weather can be cold at night-bring appropriate clothing.
  • Pack everything you need for the duration of your stay: bug spray, sunscreen, a hat for shade, rain gear, a plastic container (or two!) for water, plastic bags for trash, etc.
  • The throwing of glowsticks is dangerous and can cause serious injuries.
  • While we expect to have at least one ATM on site, we still recommend that you bring enough cash for the weekend.  Please bring enough money for any additional expenses you may have.
  • Clean Vibes staff, with the help of the Phish Green Crew and many other volunteers, will continue their effort this year to "keep the scene clean and green".   We’ll be providing a great number of trash and recycling containers and will be servicing them on a frequent basis. In the campgrounds, along rows of parking, and in the venue, there will be stations set up with barrels for  trash and recyclables. Please help the Clean Vibe and the Green Crew out by  looking for the trash and recycling barrels and walking a few extra steps to them. A little effort goes a long way. At your campsite, place butts in a small container so they aren't scattered all over the grounds when you  leave. Use the large dumpsters for trashbags from your campsite when you clean up the area around your tent and your car before you go. Help keep the scene clean and green!
  • Please pass along this information to others.

FAQ & FEEDBACK

"When is Phish playing? When should I arrive?"

The parking lot and campground will open on Friday, July 16 at 12:00 noon. The concert grounds will open at 5:00pm on Saturday, July 17th. The first set starts at 7:30pm on Saturday. On Sunday, July 18, the concert grounds will open at 3:00pm. The first of three sets will start at 5:00pm. The campground will close on Monday, July 19 at 12:00 noon. Arrive early if you can – get a good spot, get settled in & get some rest.

"Where can I plan to meet my friends?"

There will be two information tents and two message board locations on site: one in the central camping area and the other inside the concert grounds. The tent inside the concert grounds will be accessible only when the concert gates are open (i.e. during scheduled performance hours).

"Where should I go if I lose my keys, my wallet or my friends?"

Lost and found will be located at the information tents. If you lose something, or someone, check there; if it or they are not there the first time, check again
later. If you find something that needsto be returned to its owner, please drop it off at an info tent. It is a good idea to bring an extra set of keys.

FYI- Obtain your key code before you leave home and bring it with you. This will cut down on the time it takes for the locksmith to duplicate your key in the event it is lost.

"What supplies can I get on site - water? food? ice? anything else I forgot to bring?"

Free drinking (tap) water will be available at several sources in the camping area and inside the concert grounds; containers will not be provided, so please
bring your own. A variety of ready-to-eat food items and beverages will be available for purchase in the camping area and in the concert area; ice can be purchased in the camping area as well. There will also be a commissary selling various sundries (toiletries, etc.) in the central camping area.

"Can I bring a cooler into the parking/camping area?"

Yes, you can bring coolers with provisions into the camping area; however, they cannot be brought into the concert grounds.

"Can I bring a grill?"

Weather permitting (i.e., in the absence of strong wind), and if you operate them safely and with consideration for your neighbors, SMALL grills and camping stoves will be allowed. No pig roasts, no 55-gallon drums! You can use gas/propane fuel sources or charcoal, but scavenging for wood on site will NOT be permitted. The fire must be entirely contained and off the ground. Air quality is a concern. Please keep the fires as small as possible and extinguish them as soon as you are finished. When you are done cooking with charcoal, put it out with water before going into the show or going to sleep or leaving your camp, rather than letting it burn out over time. In any case, DO NOT DUMP COALS ON THE GROUND (ever), or in the trash until they are entirely cool. After the coals are COMPLETELY DEAD, dispose of them properly as garbage. Thank you.

"Can I bring an RV or pop-up camper? Will there be a special parking area for such vehicles?"

You can come in any sort of vehicle you like. However, there will not be a designated area for RV's and campers; hook-ups and dump stations will NOT be provided. Also, all vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas; they may not be driven into the camping areas.

“Can I camp next to my car?”

We strongly recommend that you camp only in the designated areas for your safety and the safety of others. For your comfort, services such as water, wash stations and portable toilets are placed to serve the camping areas.

“What can I bring into the show?”

Non-frame backpacks will be permitted. We encourage you to be prepared
with insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, a water container and warm clothing to put on in the evening. Please do be aware that your belongings will be searched each time you enter the concert grounds, so you may wish to leave non-essential items at your camp or secure your valuables in your car to speed this process.

The following items will NOT be permitted into the concert grounds; we reserve the right to add items to this list if necessary: cans, bottles (other than sealed or
empty clear plastic water bottles), food (with the exception of small snacks), beverages, alcohol, nitrous oxide or other illegal substances, video recording devices, cameras, weapons (knives of any kind, chains, etc.), fireworks, laser pens or similar focused-light devices, pets (except service animals), lawn chairs, beach umbrellas or any other items that might impair the sight of other spectators, rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles or any other device that will allow someone to
move faster than an average walking pace. Please use common sense.

There is NO check-in area for disallowed items. All patrons will be subject to a search by security personnel. Please be advised that the security company, facility, promoters & performers will not be responsible for any items confiscated during search procedures.

"Can I go in and out during the show?"

Yes, when you have exchanged your ticket for a wristband you will be able to go back and forth at will between the concert grounds during scheduled performance times and the parking and camping areas.

"What emergency services will be available on site? What should I do if I need emergency assistance (medical, police, towing, locksmith, etc.)?"

There will be emergency medical personnel and police on site around the clock. If you need EMERGENCY medical or police attention, find a staff person with a radio, go to an information tent, medical tent, or tell one of the mounted security personnel. At the end of the weekend, there will be tow trucks patrolling the parking areas for those who need them, but there could be a long
wait for their services; please try to arrive with enough gas to get you back to civilization (i.e. fill up on your way in), and make sure your lights and radio are
turned off when you park so you don't drain your battery! Also, please help us keep the parking areas clear of discarded bottles and other hazards - the tires you save could be your own.

"Will there be an on-site radio station again this year?"

No.

"Will there be kennels available?"

We will not be providing this service. Please leave your pets at home, they will definitely be safer and happier there. Pets will not be admitted to any portion of the concert, camping or parking areas.

"At what age does a child require their own ticket?"

All people over the age of 4 years old must have their own ticket.

"Will tickets be available at the gate?"

A limited number of tickets may be available at the gate. Please understand, however, that this venue is much smaller than those we have utilized in the past (Limestone, Plattsburgh). Additionally, our capacity will be strictly limited. We recommend that you buy your tickets in advance for a number of reasons. First, it will protect you if the event sells out. Second, it helps us determine how many people are coming in order that we can plan to have adequate services (toilets, garbage and recycling facilities, water, food & beverage vendors, etc.) to make your experience more comfortable. Finally, if you arrive with several people in your car and one or more does not yet have a ticket, your car will be diverted to the box office before you can proceed into the camping/concert grounds.

"What handicapped-accessible facilities will be available?"

There will be a designated parking/camping area for people with special accessibility needs; please have an official handicapped parking placard or plate for your vehicle if you need to use this area. There will also be accessible restroom facilities. There are no stairs or other barriers to entering the concert grounds, so they will be entirely accessible. There will be a viewing platform inside the concert area to accommodate those with special needs.

"What sort of temperatures and weather should I expect?"

It's impossible to predict the weather this far in advance. Temperatures can reach into the 90’s and may be humid during the day, and can dip into the low 50’s at night. Thunderstorms are not uncommon this time of year - plan to bring raingear just in case.

"Can I leave and come back if I have off-site lodging?"

Yes, but you will need to use the same entry road and go through the vehicle checkpoint each time you leave and return. We recommend that you utilize the day parking lot if you are planning to stay off-site. This will minimize any inconvenience your vehicle’s movements may cause campers and pedestrians and help to ensure a safer event. Your cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated.

“Are tickets available at Ticketmaster locations nationwide?”

Tickets are available at all Northeast TM locations. Tickets are available without a service charge (if paid by cash and in person) at the Landmark Theater which is located at 362 S. Salina St. in Syracuse, NY. The theater is open Monday-Friday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Tickets may also be charged by phone at (315) 472-0700 or (716) 852-5000 or purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com.

"Is there anything else I should know?"

Pace yourself! Eat enough, drink enough water (it’s really important to stay hydrated), and get enough sleep so that you can enjoy the second day as much as the first. Also, if you can bring patience and a sense of humor, it will be a great gift to yourself as well as those around you, and it will help you to get the
most out of your trip.

Please email us with any questions or comments you may have.  We'll try our best to answer them promptly.   You may also call (617) 451-1444 Mon-Fri 10am-6pm.

OPEN LETTER TO FANS FROM CLEAN VIBES

You are excited to be heading to the weekend festival in Volney to have a good time, see a great show, hang with fellow Phans. With thousands of people at this one site, there is a lot of trash generated, and Great Northeast's trash and recycling people, Clean Vibes, with the help of volunteer phans such as the Green Crew, do the best they can to keep the scene clean. But there are only so many people out cleaning up trash and collecting recyclables, and there are going to be tens of thousands of concertgoers on site. Therefore, we need your help.

Clean Vibes has a few suggestions of ways that you can help keep the scene clean while everyone is at the Oswego County Airport camping and enjoying the music. There are also small things you can do to help them out so that after thousands of fans leave the airport, the cleanup does not take as many days or weeks as it has in the past.

  • Trash bags will be provided as you enter the concert grounds, near the
tollbooth area. Trash bags will also be available in the central Campground
information center and available from Clean Vibes staff. (In case of rain,
please remember to bring a raincoat. Trash bags are provided to keep the
    grounds clean, not for raincoats.)
  • When you enter the airport, note where the dumpsters are located. Deposit trash from your campsites in dumpsters. Let's have a cool scene, not a trash dump!
  • Barrels to collect plastic, glass, and cans will be located in stations of six or more barrels throughout the campgrounds and at concessions areas. Please deposit beverage containers in barrels labeled for recycling. Clean Vibes staff will be driving around and emptying barrels which we will ship off for recycling.
  • Please have a small can or receptacle at your campsite for your fellow phans to put their butts in. Did you know when you leave cigarette butts on the ground, birds sometimes use them for nest material? When birds bring them near their chicks, the chemicals left in the butts can harm the chicks. And, if thousands of butts are left at the airport, then Clean Vibes staff may have to spend days out with rakes cleaning them all up.
  • Please water the grass with your pee jars before you leave! Sorry to mention this one, but it has to be said. It may not be a pleasant task, but if you leave bottles full of liquid, such as a pee jar, they are too heavy for our crew to collect in trash bags. Dont make us open up and dump out hundreds of bottles of pee! Thanks very much.
  • What you leave in the Port-o-Potties ends up at a wastewater treatment  plant. Leave bottles, cans, and trash in the trash cans outside the toilets. Trash in the toilets will clog up the wastewater treatment system.
  • If you have leftover food at the end of the concert like loaves of bread, jars of peanut butter and jelly, etc., please bring them home. Leftovers are better off in your stomach than in the landfill.

Thank you for helping the Clean Vibe and Great Northeast Productions, and your fellow Phans to "Keep the Scene Clean and Green" this year. Enjoy the show!
